I believe the phrase is, "Tooting your own horn"

...which I try not to do on a regular basis, but I thought I'd put a small commercial on my blog for my Creative Memories business. You can click here to see my website and check out what I offer.

No, it's not just scrapbooking, and frankly, I'm starting to hate that word. I just make albums: pictures, journaling, and maybe paper and stickers. If you'd rather move a mouse than a pair of scissors, check out the DIGITAL line, where you can make a photobook all online.

Ordering online is a cinch and it's delivered to your door in just a couple days. Enjoy!

P.S. Did anybody catch the flick, "New in Town"? How funny was that movie?!?! "Are ya a scrapper?"

American Idol - Trivial Pursuit

I couldn't believe Jamar was let go last week, but I'm sure it's only the first of many moments of ARGH with this season of AI.

I knew I liked these guys. Danny and Jamar from American Idol work with Faith Builders International. Go to this website, and then click on this picture:

Thanks to Angie's Facebook Wall for the info!!!

CommUNITY

I've never been one to dive into theological discussions with both feet.

It's more like I'm on the edge of the water, dipping in a toe now and then. It probably wasn't until I started teaching at a Christian high school after college that I even gave my personal theology a second thought.

But I've actually enjoyed what's been happening in our Christian Living Class at church lately -- wading into the waters of our worldviews and reflecting on how we view God. There's nothing more vital than understanding WHO HE IS. It affects every aspect of life and determines how we work, worship, parent, play, and love.

I've actually been encouraged by the debate, the questions, the way people are really thinking instead of just enjoying the ride. Fellowship and good times are great; there's a place for that. But there's also a time for asking the hard questions and being okay with the fact that you don't have the answers.

There's so much I don't understand, but I don't want that to keep me from searching or from loving this God who has changed me. I look forward to how these discussions will grow our strength and unity as a body.

Two Different Episodes...

The brutal honesty of my children: sometimes I could do without it. But until they learn what "tact" is, I get things like this -

I'm telling Daniel and Greg how at my class at the Y we were jumping in the air and trying to kick our behinds with our heels. Greg immediately started demonstrating, the little string bean, while I showed him how I couldn't do it so well.

Daniel observed this and said simply, "You just have to lose weight, Mom."

Yes, duly noted. Thank you, Daniel. This is WHY I'm at the Y.

A few minutes later, as he was headed downstairs, Greg yells out, "MOM - YOU'RE GREAT!!"

I almost sat on the floor and cried.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PATRICK

In honor of Patrick's birthday, here's a couple of my favorite shots. Thanks for being a friend, Shotwell! Ashley, I found it!

"We don't need no stinkin' Stimulus Package!"

I heard this statistic yesterday and had to share:

If the government had given away $1,000,000 every day since Christ's birth, it STILL would not equal the amount of money in the President's proposed Stimulus Package.

Things I love right now:

An afternoon of quiet while my babies sleep and big boys are at school.

A mug of hot chocolate, a good book, and a hot bath before going to bed.

The FIT class at the Y on Monday and Friday mornings. It's one of the hardest things I've ever done, but it feels good to know I'm challenging myself and pushing to be healthier than ever before.

Reading to my boys who are still young enough to climb onto my lap.

Watching Greg and Daniel play basketball at the Y.

Hearing Aaron laugh at "The Office" even though he claims it's the stupidest show on the face of the earth.

When Simon Cowell says, "THAT was Indulgent Nonsense." I really must implement that into my vocabulary.

The way Greg answers the phone, "Hello, this is Greg!" in his bright, happy voice.

Listening to the boys wrestle with their Dad downstairs.

The anticipation of singing on worship team again after a brief hiatus.

FACEBOOK. Just found my youth pastors from when I was in Junior High. That was delightful.

The song "Faithful God" by Shannon Wexelberg.

Just Remembering...

It was December 2005, Texas, Kemah Boardwalk, to be specific. I had bangs. That was weird. I was completely overwhelmed with 3 baby boys. But I was warm. I miss being warm.
