All I Want for Mother's Day...okay, and maybe a massage

From the JJill catalog, this necklace is on my brain...
An 18-karat gold vermeil pendant inscribed with the word ‘hope’ rests atop a sterling silver disc, both strung on a leather cord. 18" long plus a 2" extender. Sterling lobster-claw closure.

Six-Word Memoirs

I'm thinking of getting this book on Amazon called Not Quite What I Was Planning. It's full of six-word memoirs by famous and not-so-famous people.

If you check it out on Amazon, there's a cool short video with different memoirs. Fun!

One of my favorites was: Me See Life! Me Write Stories!

The first one I came up with for myself was Life's Better With a Good Book

Comment with one of yours!!

the poet in me

I had many reasons for naming our baby girl "Hope", but didn't think of this poem by Emily Dickinson until just today. Loving the first stanza right now:

Hope is the thing with feathers

That perches in the soul,

And sings the tune without the words,

And never stops at all

This Says it All

"you are the trip I did not take
you are the pearls I cannot buy
you are my blue Italian lake
you are my piece of foreign sky."

Baby Girl and All That

Ah, it's been a whilrwind couple 'o weeks. I told Aaron it feels like we added 3 children, not just 1 to our family. But it's getting a little more "normal" and I don't feel as overwhelmed as I did a few days ago.

Mom and Dad are driving here now, coming to get their first glimpse of their new granddaughter. Looking forward to the extra hands!

I'll try to post some new pictures soon...I'm guessing she'll have blue eyes, but that's still up for debate :)

thoughts

Random blatherings...

My 88 year-old Grandmother just got her very own laptop. How cool is that? I can't wait to email her. I wonder if she'll go on Facebook? Oh, that's funny...

August Rush is one amazing movie, thank you sister-in-law for letting me borrow it. But if you are post-partum, you need at least 2 boxes of Kleenex.

Songs that get to me right now...Mothers and Daughters by John Mayer....You're Gonna Miss This by Trace Adkins...Isn't She Lovely by Stevie Wonder....Beautiful Flower by India.Arie......Strength, Courage and Wisdom by the same....That Cinderella song by Steven Curtis Chapman....

Ah, American Idol. Now that LOST is in repeats it's got my full attention. Michael Johns - FINALLY getting his MOJO on!! Let's hope he hasn't peaked. I love Carly, but without the tattoos, please. Those two are my faves for now. Can't wait to see Daughtry perform on Idol Gives Back - woo hoo!

Thank you to all who posted comments - it's so amazing to see the extended family love across the county. That's what happens when you move so much! Love you all and appreciate you.
